Welcome to the Energy Information Networks & Systems lab!

Low-carbon energy systems that are technically reliable, economically sensible, and secure against intentional cyber attacks will be critical for our future.

Our research and teaching focuses on the following topics of energy management:

  • Energy System Design: The composition of future energy systems and their regulation / tax / market regimes
  • Energy System Operation: Algorithms for the operation of future energy systems w.r.t. economic and technical targets
  • Energy Automation Systems: The hard-/software & communication systems to implement those algorithms

We use tools from distributed control, machine learning, probabilistic models & optimization. On the frontier of digitalization in energy our lab interconnects computer science and energy technology.

Our lab is part of profile area "Future Energy Systems".

Our Paper "A Novel Algorithm for the Fast and Accurate Quantile Computation in Probabilistic Power Flow" was selected as one of the Best Conference...
